We have already mentioned that the addon domain is a fully functional domain within your cPanel. So, This addon domain is completely new, and your new website hosted in a new folder on your hosting account. There are 3 things that happen once you create an addon domain.
- A folder is created in the ‘public_html’ directory
- A subdomain is created for the primary domain
- The new domain name is associated with the subdomain
Have a look an example, if the Major domain was ‘Mystartupblog.com’ and you assign the Addon Domain ‘fdshakil.com’ to the folder ‘Fdshakil’, the following routes (URLs) would be true:
- fdshakil. mystartupblog.com
However, All three of these paths would access the same directory and show the same website. For example, if your visitors going to fdshakil.com, there is no evidence that they are being routed through fdshakil. mystartupblog.com
