HostGator SiteLock FREE Alternatives
Hostgator SiteLock security is an option but recommends by Hostgator itself on each of the shared hosting packages.
During the buying process, you will get an extremely cheap price at Sitelock. But I don’t think so it’s needed, whether there is a bunch of free stuff out there.
#1. Use Plugin
Running security software on your blog is not kind of a bad idea at all. While you get at free, I personally think there’s no need to pay for something like SiteLock.
There are some plugins like iThemes or Wordfence, the one I use on my own website is Wordfence.
Wordfence is a kind of plugin that is one of the best all-in-one security solutions in the market. And it does an excellent job for your website to prevent malware infections in the first place.
Their paid version includes dedicated customer support if you ever really do get hacked. However, the free versions id work fine for a new site. I highly recommend it.
#2. Use Cloudflare CDN – Free
In my opinion, Cloudflare CDN is the best CDN provider of all time. All, Hostgator plans offer free integration with Cloudflare.
If you want, you can also use Cloudflare, it is for free. By using free Cloudflare, it will give you protection from DDoS attacks.
On the other hand, SiteLock also provides a CDN, that is something unavailable with plain Hostgator plans. With Cloudflare, I feel way better than SiteLock in terms of website security.
Overall, Cloudflare is an all-in-one solution that gives you everything for free, which I highly recommended.
Do I Need SiteLock with HostGator
Does SiteLock Work, the answer YES? There are 5 million websites that have installed SiteLock on their website.
There are some popular hosting companies, like, Hostgator, Bluehost which are partnered with Sitelock. Indirectly they force to buy Sitelock during the sign-up process, so be aware of it.
However, I do encourage you to keep eye on around… Someone feels good it doesn’t mean you too. Before you add to it your Hostgator package, make sure you think again.
I have a very worst experience with Sitelock. I know every product we bought they have a positive or negative user experience.
Some people think Sitelock Hostgator is Worth it for them but some people also disagree with that. When it comes to pay so before you pay see the review around like Trustpilot, ConsumerAffairs, etc.
Since you are reading about Hostgator SiteLock, I hope you understand what I try to explain. Overall, I do not recommend Sitelock for my readers, save your money, and invest it in other tools.

FAQ’s: HostGator SiteLock
Final Thought
However, Sitelock Hostgator Worth it or not is up to you. But I do not recommend adding the SiteLock package while you buy web hosting from HostGator.
Hostgator makes the promise that you don’t need to worry about security if you buy SiteLock service. But I found this simply isn’t true, It does nothing to fix. But, by name of fixing your problems, they try to cost extra to a false sense of security.
NOTE: It doesn’t seem worth it to me but there is a good chance that you could end up spending money if your site gets hacked.
It’s better to get some security plugin like iThemes, Wordfence that works on preventing hacks in the first place. I simply don’t feel SiteLock is worth the money in the first place.
